Graveyard Muddy Buddies for an Easy Halloween Treat
This really is the easiest treat to make for Halloween and I’ll give you a few tricks to make it even more simple! Whip up a batch of brownie muddy buddies, dump them into a casserole dish and top it off with some cookies from the grocery store that look like tombstones! Ta-dah! You have a spooky batch of Graveyard Muddy Buddies!
My Secret Ingredient for the BEST Muddy Buddies
Most people drown their muddy buddies in powdered sugar and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I prefer something a little more chocolatey and less sweet. So I use brownie mix! I started making my buddy buddies with this back in college and I’m obsessed. Now, some people don’t like the idea of eating raw flour so if you would rather use powdered sugar and add a few tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder you can do that!
Cookies that Look Like Tombstones
I used these Mother’s cookies but Milano Cookies also look great as you can see on my Tombstone Cupcakes. I dipped them in chocolate there but you can also leave them white and either write on them with melted dark chocolate or use an edible pen! Edible pens are awesome and you can find them at Michael’s, grab a pack and keep them around. They’ll come in handy, to give you an idea on what you can do with them check out my Skeleton Cupcakes.
By the way… I have a ton of Muddy Buddy (Puppy Chow) recipes…
Another awesome thing about this treat is you can make it a few days in advance! So if you’re planning a big Halloween party or simply have no time to whip up a something the day of… just make these! They’ll be done in 10 minutes and everyone will LOVE it!
You can also make mini graveyards in plastic cups for little kids and easy serving!
